New Audio Editing Tool

Web Development , Adobe No Comments »
I was just checking out all the blog entries that have accumulated in my Google Reader (I hope they create a little alerter tool a la Bloglines) and spotted this article on BetaNews. Its aimed at web designers and developers "who do not specialize in audio". I'm guessing its also aimed at podcasters as an alternate to Audacity and cheaper alternative to Adobe Audition. I haven't had a look yet, but you can get a beta download of Soundbooth from Adobe Labs

Office Muzak

There's recently been a variety of music played in the office, new CDs getting an airing and we've been having a bit of BBC Radio Six. I've also taken to broadcasting my current tunes on Google Talk. Nick Tong told me I should be using last.fm and then I could add to my blog using his tag! So I signed up with last.fm and used his tag.... Of course it didn't bloody work did it!! ;) I didn't have any top album, artists or anything else like that, so I kept getting "service unavailable". I made some changes and now it all works. ;oD You can see my recently listened to tracks and eventually you will be able to see my top albums, artists and tracks. Now where did I put that pod manager, so I can add a link to the side of my blog with out editing everything.

Big thank you to Peter for an excellent presentation and to everyone that turned up and asked some excellent questions. If you missed the meeting or want to watch it again you can view it here : http://adobechats.adobe.acrobat.com/p29516302/ You can find Peter's presentation here on the SCFUG Google Group. If you're interested, the Poll we had tonight was "What "frameworks" are you using?", the results of which are available for download below. I'll have a dig through the presentation tomorrow and update this post with the URLs that were posted. Once again, thanks to Peter and everyone that attended for making this another successful meeting.

Sorry for the late notice on this. It would seem that even after all these years I still can't use an email client, plus we've had a bit of a switcheroo on the dates. I had planned to have the next meeting on Thursday 26th October, but this is the last day of Adobe MAX, so instead we'll be having a meeting this Thursday instead! Peter J Farrell will be giving us his "Head First Mach-II" presentation via Adobe Connect (Breeze). So : The presentation : Head First Mach-II
The presenter : Peter J Farrell
The time : 8pm BST (GMT+1)
The place : http://adobechats.adobe.acrobat.com/r94491404/
Look forward to seeing everyone there.

Google Blog Search and pinger

It would seem that yesterday I managed to completely forgot to read all my RSS feeds on Google Reader. No idea how I managed it, but there you go.... In amongst all the articles I had read which included Ray Camden's review of the start of the 3rd season of Lost, which I had to quickly look away from and a classic Dilbert I noticed that not only does Google have a Blog Search engine, but they've just released a pinger api as well! Is there nothing that Google doesn't/won't index?? At some point I really should update my install of BlogCFC and then have a look at the pingers.
