CFUnited Schedule

CFML , Web Development No Comments »
Scottish Coldfusion User Group manager, Andy Allan, is off to CFUnited this year - lucky devil that he is! On the SCFUG mail list he asked if people would work out their own schedule for the conference. The idea being that he wanted to see what the people on the list think is relevant content. So here's my schedule.

When updating blog code from svn make sure you copy the new shiney code up and not a mixture of old stuff, new stuff and your local ini file. Thanks to Mr Logan who kindly emailed me to tell me I'd broken stuff.. ;oP

Google is taking over the world

~sigh~ It really is.... I've discovered I love my google mail, GoogleTalk is great, I signed up for a Google Calendar the other day and I just added Google Notebook to Firefox as well... (Thanks to Raymond Camden for that one! ;)) My personalised Google Home page is getting silly now what with a couple of blogs on there, weather for Newcastle and Alicante, Word of the day, Quote of the day, my calendar, my email, a bunch of news headlines from top stories, wired, technology news and entertainment, and I've also just added Blake Schwendiman's Flickr Friends module to the page too! If you don't read the daily Dilbert cartoons you really should and to get you started - start here and make sure you read at least up to the 18th... ;)

New books from Peachpit

Woo hoo! 2 shiney new books just arrived! I ordered More Eric Meyer on CSS and the Zen of CSS design from the Peachpit website in the US on the 16th and they have arrived via Fedex today, the 19th, already! Whats more amazing is that FedEx actually found the offices first time, unlike every other courier thats been to the building so far! Mind you he did completely miss the buzzer by the front door, but we'll forgive him that. :D

Ajax photo Album

I was looking for an Ajax Image zoomer, but found this instead : http://piccy.dotimpac.to/ courtesy of Ajaxian. It uses the combination effects in script.aculo.us to good effect allowing you to pick an image and zoom in and out of that image. Must remember to grab the files and pull it apart to find out exactly how it works.
