Scotch '007 - Day One

CFML , Scottish ColdFusion User Group , Conference , Scotch on the Rocks No Comments »
Well Wow!! What a first day! The speakers have been brilliant! The delegates have been superb. Andy has out done himself with all the organising! Everyone seems to be enjoying themselves and the beer is flowing freely (which always makes people happy!) Soon they will all be heading off to the Haymarket for more beers! I've uploaded some photos from last night and today to my flickr account - I'll add some titles at some point soon, but feel free to add and comments/notes/insults.

ColdFusion 8 - Public Beta

CFML , Adobe , Scotch on the Rocks No Comments »
Released for public beta on Adobe Labs just today! Just in time for Scotch! You can find out more about and download ColdFusion 8 from http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/coldfusion8/ If you haven't already got your tickets for Scotch - there are a few places left - come and find out about ColdFusion 8! Now then.... How much am I gonna upset Andy and Kev by suggesting we get the conference brochures reprinted with "ColdFusion 8" instead of "Scorpio"? ;)

Farcry 4.01 Released!

CFML , Web Development , Farcry No Comments »
The beta of Farcry 4, code name Gonzales, has been available since July of last year and has undergone some major work and changes. About a month ago, Farcry 4 was quietly released, because the plug-ins weren't ready for 1.0.0 release. Now Farcry 4.01 has been officially with 3 plug-ins. Farcry 4.01 was released at about 9:30am GMT today with 3 plug-ins. Download the suite at http://www.farcrycms.org/go/downloads Included in the suite is :
  • core (4.0.1)
  • plugins/farcrycms (1.0.0)
  • plugins/farcrycfximage (1.0.0)
  • plugins/googleMaps (1.0.0)
Documentation for Farcry 4's new features is steadily expanding. If you have problems with the port number of the wiki, some documentation can be found on the Google Groups. The Farcry-Dev and Farcry-Beta are excellent places to get more information and help with Farcry and developing with Farcry. If you're coming to Scotch it would appear that I'll be giving a presentation on Farcry, so I'll be able to tell you more about its new features there! A big thanks to Geoff Bowers and his team at Daemon Internet Consultants for all their hard work with this release of FarCry.

Well Scotch on the Rocks is literally only hours away! I believe there are still a few tickets available (by paypal only), so if you still haven't got your tickets you might just be lucky! I shall be travelling up on the from Newcastle and arriving at 3pm on the Wednesday afternoon and it looks like I won't be the only one. So if you're out and about, twiddling your thumbs, then meet us in the "The Mercat Bar" I may be the sad git wearing the green Macromedia User Group T-Shirt or I may be incognito! ;)
